Yiannikos Center for Holistic Dentistry was founded in 1991 by Dr. Panikos Yiannikos, who graduated from the Athens School of Dentistry in 1965 and practiced dentistry for over 40 years. For several years now, the clinic has been led by Dr. Anna-Maria Yiannikos, who has taken the dental services in the direction of a more harmonious synergy between the oral cavity and the entire body. Her main mission is to enhance the beauty and health of her patients. Dr. Anna-Maria Yiannikos graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Athens, Greece, in 1990. She continued her education by completing a two-year master’s program in Laser Therapy in Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Dr. Yiannikos became the first female dentist in Europe to earn a Master's degree in Laser Dentistry. Her passion for dental lasers naturally led to the founding of AALZ Cyprus, the first franchise of AALZ Germany, an institution known for its successful Laser Safety Officer training seminars. Dr. Yiannikos also holds a Master’s degree from CIIM (Cyprus International Institute of Management). In May 2006, she was awarded the prize for Best Clinical Research at the International Laser Dentistry Congress in Berlin. Since January 2008, she has served as an academic collaborator at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) for the Master's program "Lasers in Dentistry". In 2012, she successfully completed the Master Clinician Program in Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 2017, she received certification from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) for the S.M.A.R.T. technique (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique). Dr. Anna-Maria continuously maintains and develops her professional qualifications and, over the past 15 years, has been invited as a keynote speaker at numerous European and international dental congresses.

In 2017, the clinic welcomed Dr. Athanasios Nasiopoulos, who graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1986. He pursued postgraduate studies in Orthodontics at New York University (NYU) in the United States and further specialized in Orthodontics at Lund University in Sweden, where he earned a Master of Dental Science (MDSc) degree in 1992. In 2003, Dr. Nasiopoulos defended his PhD thesis and became a Professor of Orthodontics at the Dental School of Aristotle University. With more than 16 years of experience using the Invisalign system, Dr. Nasiopoulos is recognized as a Platinum Invisalign Provider and is considered a pioneer in his field. He is a member of the Thessaloniki Dental Association, the British Dental Association, and the Cyprus Dental Association.

Since 2019, the clinic has also been home to highly qualified implantologist Dr. Christos Constantinides. He studied dentistry at King’s College London (UK), and later completed advanced education at Columbia University (USA), earning a Certificate from the American Board of Periodontology. After his time in New York, he relocated to Austin, Texas, where he practiced in several private clinics as both a dentist and consultant. He still holds an active Texas dental license. During his time in the U.S., Dr. Constantinides lectured at numerous conferences, including the North East Implant Symposium and the Tri-State Metropolitan Meeting.

Yiannikos Center for Holistic Dentistry was the first clinic in Cyprus to receive ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation in 2011. Holistic dentistry – also known today as biological dentistry – views the human being as a whole, not treating only one part of the body (such as the oral cavity) but focusing on the entire health of the individual. Yiannikos Holistic Dentistry Center establishes a two-way link between oral health issues and overall wellness – whether physical or psychological. It is important to note that biological dentistry is not a dental specialty. It is a philosophy, a way of life, a guiding principle during treatment.
