Doctor George D Demetriades has been offering a full range of paediatric general surgery services for over 20 years. He leads an advanced surgical team that includes paediatric anesthesiologists and paediatric surgical nurses.
Education
Doctor George D Demetriades was born in Paphos, he graduated from the B' Gymnasium of Paphos and upon completion of his military service he went to Muenster (Former West Germany), where he began his studies in Medicine. He received his degree in Medicine in 1990 and then he trained in Paediatric Surgery with a special interest in Paediatric Urology and Burn Sergery. He has also trained in Ultrosonography. He is a member of the German Association of Paediatric Surgeons. He worked at Elisabeth Kinderklinik, Marien Hospital in Hamm ( West Germany) from 1989 till 1998, initially as a trainee and after as a consultant. In 1998 he returned to Cyprus, since then he offers his knowledge and expertise as a private children surgeon. He joined GESY since January 2020. He is a founding member of Areteio Private Hospital while he collaborates with departments of Paediatric Surgery in Hospitals in Germany and Professors in Paediatric Surgery.
