Doctor Antonis Ioannou graduated from the University of Crete, Medical School in 2009. He earned his Masters Degree from the same University in 2010 by participating in the Master’s Programme: Cellular and Genetic Etiology, Diagnostic and Therapeutic of Human Diseases.  He defended his PhD Thesis  in March 2014 entitled: How complement proteins affect the level of damage after ischemia-reperfusion injury. The research was performed in the laboratory of Professor Georgios Tsokos at the University Hospital of Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He worked as a Cardiology Fellow, at the General  Hospitals of Limassol and Nicosia with special interest in cardiac imaging, valvular diseases, heart failure and the assessment of cardiovascular risk for coronary artery disease. 

The primary goal of Doctor Antonis Ioannou is to provide excellent care to his patients, and as a team, to determine the type and goals of their treatment. His active participation in research activity in one of the best universities in the world combined with the abundance of experiences gained in the previous years allow him to effectively deal with all aspects of Cardiology and enable him to be close to the needs of the patients and to provide them with a comprehensive care.
