Doctor Athanasios Kalampakas graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1978. After his internship as a resident at Larissa General Hospital and then at Hippocrates General Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece, he continued his training at University College London and completed his postgraduate studies in Gastroenterology in 1992. After his internship, Doctor Athanasios worked as a research fellow at the D' Path. clinic at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he defended his Doctoral thesis and obtained his Doctor of Medical Sciences degree. Since 1999 he had been working as an attending physician in Gastroenterology at the Papageorgiou General Regional Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece. Currently a Gastroenterologist with over 40 years of experience, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Athanasios Kalampakas is in private practice and provides services at Evangelismos Private Hospital in Paphos, Cyprus.

Doctor Athansios Kalampakas has constantly improved his qualifications during his career, participating in various seminars, conferences and symposiums all over the world and has written many scientific articals in the field of gastroenterology, which have been published and translated into many languages of the world.
