FLU VACCINATION HAD BEGUN

According to the Health Ministry announcement first batches of flu vaccines were delivered to Cyprus.

The vaccine is recommended for the following groups:

  1. Infants aged over six months
  2. All people aged 65 and over
  3. Pregnant women, women who have just given birth, women who are breast feeding
  4. Doctors, nurses and other hospital staff and family members of patients.
  5. Adults with the following conditions:
  • Chronic respiratory conditions
  • Chronic heart condition
  • Diabetes or other metabolic condition
  • Chronic kidney or liver condition
  • Neurological conditions or neuromuscular conditions
  • Sickle cell anaemia
  • Immunosuppression (hereditary or acquired)
  • Transplant patients
  • Children and teenagers who require long term treatment with aspirin
  • Individuals with BMI >40 kg/m2

Flu vaccines are available as from Friday, October 18 at the following health centres:

Nicosia district:

  • Old Nicosia Hospital Vaccination Centre
  • Archbishop Makarios Hospital Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child
  • Lakatamia Health Centre Vaccination Centre
  • Evrychou Health Centre Vaccination Centre
  • Evrychou Health Centre Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child

 

Limassol district:

  • Old Limassol Hospital Vaccination Centre for Adults
  • Limassol Hospital Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child
  • Troodos-Kyperounta Hospital Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child
  • Troodos-Kyperounta Hospital Vaccination Centre

 

Larnaca district:

  • Old Larnaca Hospital Vaccination Centre
  • Old Larnaca Hospital Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child

 

Paphos district:

  • Paphos Hospital adults vaccination centre
  • Paphos Hospital Centre for Protection of Maternity& Welfare of Child

People aged over 65 must present their ID and those in vulnerable groups  must present a medical certificate.
