Doctor Michalis Kounounis is an otolaryngologist surgeon who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Thracian University of Democritus in Alexandroupolis in 2005. In September 2006, after passing his exams, he started his specialisation in the surgical clinic at the Limassol General Hospital, where had been working for 1 year. In September 2007, Doctor Michalis continued his training at the Otolaryngology Clinic of the Nicosia General Hospital, where he practised for 2 years, performing many surgical operations on children as well as adult patients. After he moved to England where he continued his training for another 2 years at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. In England, he specialized mainly in nasal surgery (F.E.S.S. endoscopic nasal, paranasal sinus surgery and rhinoplasty), but he also continued to see paediatric patients. In December 2011, Doctor Michalis Kounounis was awarded the title of Specialist Otolaryngologist by examination at the Hippocrates University Hospital of Athens. Doctor Michalis Kounounis is permanently upgrading his qualifications and participating in conferences and seminars in the field of Otolaryngology both in Cyprus and abroad. He performs a wide range of surgical otolaryngological procedures. Since July 2015, Doctor Michalis holds a Master's degree (MSc Rhinology - Rhinosurgery) in Rhinology - Rhinosurgery. Since January 2012, Doctor Michalis Kounounis is a private practitioner in his own clinic in Limassol, Cyprus.
