Doctor Mattheos Philippou has extensive experience of working with both adults and children from the age of 2 years. He provides the following services in the prevention and treatment of ear, throat and nose diseases :
- Diagnosis of hearing disorders and prosthetics (hearing aids).
- Diagnosis and treatment of vertigo.
- Diagnostics (endoscopy, ultrasound, laryngoscopy and stroboscopy).
- Surgical and microsurgical procedures on the ear, nose, sinuses, nasopharynx, larynx and vocal chords (performed at YGIA Private Clinic)
- Phoniatrics (correcting voice defects in children and adults)
- All types of facial plastic surgery, facial cosmetology.
Education
Doctor Mattheos Philippou graduated from the Medical School in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1977. He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece with a degree in Otolaryngology. In 1987, Doctor Mattheos Philippou completed his doctoral thesis at Academik Hospital Utrecht University on "Microanatomy of the nose and paranasal sinuses in transverse section and became a lecturer at Utrecht University. In 1988, Mattheos Philippou graduated from Newcastle University, Utrecht, with a Doctor of Medicine degree in ear surgery and plastic surgery of the nose. Doctor Mattheos Philippou has been head of the Department of Otolaryngology at Athens State Hospital, Greece for more than 30 years. He currently sees patients at the Evangelismos Private Hospital in Pafos, Cyprus. Doctor Mattheos Philippou is the author of many books and scientific papers in the field of ear, nose and throat surgery.
